Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have.
Effective date: October 11, 2026. Bespoke Outfitters, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, doing business as First Mate (“First Mate,” “we,” “us”). support@1st-mates.com
1. Who this covers
This policy applies to 1st-mates.com (the “Site”), purchases of our products, the forms on the Site, and email you send to us. The Site is directed to residents of the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and your information will be handled in the United States. It does not cover third-party sites you reach through links. Where laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act apply to us, we honor the rights they give you.
2. What we collect
- Contact and unsubscribe forms: your name if you give it, your email address, and anything you write to us.
- Purchases: checkout is handled by Gumroad, which collects your payment and billing details under its own terms and privacy policy and acts as the seller of record. We receive the information needed to deliver your purchase and handle support, such as your name, email address, and order details. We never see your full card number.
- Server logs: our hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested.
- Email: messages you send to support@1st-mates.com and our replies.
3. What we do not collect
The Site does not ask for Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, dates of birth, or health information. Please do not send them to us.
4. How we use it
- To deliver what you bought and answer download or support requests.
- To reply to your messages and to send messages about your order. We do not currently run an email list or send marketing email. If we start, we will send marketing email only to people who opt in, include an unsubscribe link in every message, and update this policy before it begins.
- To keep the Site secure, prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site and deliver products, and who are expected to protect it: our website host and form processor (Netlify), our checkout provider (Gumroad), and our email providers (Namecheap, which receives email sent to support@1st-mates.com and forwards it to us, and Google, whose Gmail service stores our email and sends our replies). Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy policy. We may disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to a successor if the business is sold.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not share it with any other business owned or managed by Bespoke Outfitters, LLC’s members.
6. How the Site handles a form submission
When you submit the contact or unsubscribe form, your browser sends it over an encrypted connection to our host, Netlify, which stores the submission and notifies us. We keep a record of the form you used, the date, and your agreement to this policy and the Terms of Service, so we can show your consent. Email you send to support@1st-mates.com passes through Namecheap’s forwarding service to our Gmail inbox, where it is stored.
7. Security
We use encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limit access to the accounts that hold your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately.
8. How long we keep it
- Contact, support, and email messages: until you ask us to delete them, and no longer than twenty-four (24) months after your last interaction with us, unless we need them for an order, a payment dispute, or a legal obligation.
- Order records: up to seven years, for tax and accounting.
- Records of your consent and unsubscribe choices, including a do-not-email list of unsubscribed addresses: as long as needed to show compliance.
- Server logs: retained by our host for a short period under its own policy.
9. Your rights and choices
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or receive a copy. You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any email or on our Email Preferences page. Unsubscribing does not stop messages about an order. Send requests to support@1st-mates.com. We will verify your identity and respond within thirty (30) days. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Some information must be kept by law, and we will tell you if that applies.
10. State privacy rights
Residents of California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with privacy laws may have additional rights, including to appeal a decision. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. Because we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of. We do not currently respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals because we do not track you across other sites, and no third party collects information about your browsing on this Site for its own purposes.
11. Children
Our Site and products are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party websites
The Site links to services we do not control, including Gumroad and social networks. Their privacy practices apply once you leave the Site.
13. Changes
We may update this policy by posting the new version with a new effective date. If we launch an app or features that handle account data or use artificial intelligence, we will update this policy before they go live.
